| The Word says in Hebrews 11:1 (KJV), “Now faith
is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith is believing and trusting what God has promised you, regardless
of what the situation looks like, Faith is seeing God as light in any
dark situation. Faith is knowing you are healed before you see the healing
manifest. Faith is knowing your family members are saved despite how they
act. Faith is knowing God will give you increase, even when your bank
account says differently. Faith is having a vision of your Victory.
We know faith is important to God because He talks about it in Hebrews
11:6 (NJV), “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for
he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder
of them that diligently seek Him.” We must, as Christians, have
faith in the power of our Savior.
I have been asked this question many times: “How does one obtain
faith?” My answer is always the same. You must read your Bible daily.
God uses His word to give us wisdom, strength, knowledge and faith.
A few years ago my friend’s Mom had a rare disease and the doctors
had told the family to start making arrangements for her funeral because
her time was getting short. My friend continued to stand, and came in
agreement with other believers on the promises of God’s Word. Isaiah
53:5 (NJV) says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He
was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon
Him; and with His stripes we are healed”. She reminded God daily
of His Word. Now understanding that God’s Word can not come back
void and God can not lie, she believed her mom was healed and would walk
out of the hospital. A few months later her mom did walk out of the hospital,
and doctors had no medical reason why she was still alive. This is the
power of our Savior through “Faith”.
In the Bible there are many stories about how someone’s situation
changed simply because they had an expectancy of what God could do. In
Mark 5 we read about the woman with the issue of blood who simply believed
that if she could just touch the garment of Jesus she would be healed,
In Mark 5:34 (NJV) we read that after touching His garment Jesus said
“… Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace,
and be whole of thy plague.” Look at blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10.
He was a beggar and wore a beggar’s garment, but once he was called
by Jesus, he took off his beggar’s garment because he knew at that
point he was healed and was no longer a beggar. In Luke 7, a widow’s
son dies. Simply because of God’s compassion he raised her son from
the dead. These are just a few examples of how situations changed simply
because someone believed and had faith.
We must keep our faith stirred up at all times. We can not look at the
situation in the natural and become discouraged. Our God works in the
supernatural. We must also keep in mind that God’s timing is not
our timing. In many cases when we are waiting on something from God, He
is getting so many other areas and situations to line up because the victory
isn’t just for us. God always look at the whole picture and how
others will be blessed from the victory. Always remember Luke 1:37 (NJV)
that says, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
If you are fulfilling the will of God
in your life, don’t fret if you come to a “Red Sea”
or a Valley that seems to be “the Valley of the Shadow of Death.”
If He leads you TO IT, HE’LL lead you THROUGH IT!
Until next time, “Stay in Faith.”
