PRAISE and WORSHIP by Monica Edmonds
We sometimes ask ourselves what’s the difference between Praise and Worship. Praise is an expression of our gratitude, our admiration and our love for the God we serve. Worship is giving divine honor to the excellent and almighty God we believe in. Through our worship we are making it known to God that he is everything and that we will not put anything before him. We sometimes bow before our Lord to show our ultimate worship. Both praise and worship are important in our relationship with God. It allows us to go to another spiritual level with our Savior.

God is delighted when we praise and worship him. He is even more delighted when we praise and worship him in the mist of our trials and tribulations. Sometimes that’s hard because we focus on the valley and not the one who can deliver us from the valley. There are many scriptures throughout the bible that talks about praise and worship and the importance of them both. Psalm 150 talks about praise and Exodus 35 talks about building a place to worship. In many situations, throughout the bible, Christians praised and worshiped before or after an occurrence of a circumstance or a situation. We must remember praise and worship is not based on feelings but of a spiritual duty we have to God. We are coming into the holiday season which is sometimes a hard season for some of us to endure. We have lost love ones, we are in trials and tribulations, etc…but this is not the time to give up, this is the time to give in to praise and worship. Stop looking over the past year focusing on disappointments but begin to look over the past year and remember how God brought you through. God moves when we sincerely praise and worship him. God is pleased, delighted and relishes in our praise and worship for him. As Christians let’s get back to the basics which are praise and worship for our Savior.

Until next time, “Praise and Worship”

Monica
