Delay Is Not A Defeat by Monica Edmonds |

| Every blessing and every victory is for an appointed time. Habakkuk 2:3 (NJV), For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it: because it will surely come, it will not tarry. As Christians, we must quickly learn that in most cases there is a delay because God wants us to endure the process. We ask the question why? Because God understands the importance of the process regardless how uncomfortable we may become he realizes it beneficial to our spiritual attitude and growth. During this process we are developing a closer walk with God, we are being purged and purified, we are being made new in his imagine, we are becoming dependent upon our Savior, we are building faith character and we are visualizing his supernatural abilities. God has a plan and purpose for each one of us. He wants us to walk with him side by side on a daily basis. That’s the purpose of the process. God is preparing us for an appointed time. Some of us are waiting to walk in our gifts, waiting to walk in our ministry, waiting on our healing, waiting on salvation for family, waiting on jobs, waiting on finances to increase or waiting on children. Whatever you are waiting on take advantage of the process. The process is what makes us stronger Christians. In John 11, it talks about the death of Lazarus. Lazarus first became sick and his two sisters Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus letting him know his friend Lazarus has taken ill. They both assumed when Jesus learned that Lazarus was sick he would immediately drop everything and return to Lazarus. In reading the scripture we know that did not happen. Lazarus did indeed die and Jesus showed up four days later. This was a four day process Mary, Martha and others had to endure. In John 11:42 Jesus said, And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. The purpose of the process was about getting people to believe who he was and to see his supernatural abilities. God sees the bigger picture and knows the life changing impact the appointed time will have on everyone. This delay was definitely not a defeat. Everything happened on a specific day, at a specific time, for a specific reason. When we begin to get frustrated and discouraged we need to read John 11 and recognize Lazarus always had the victory from the beginning but the processed was delayed to encourage those to believe. Defeat was never a part of the equation. Until next time, “Appreciate the Process”
